Armed men on the run after stealing safe in Sydney CBD
Two men are sought after stealing a safe in Sydney’s CBD this morning.

Authorities responded to an incident at a hotel on Little Pier Street in Haymarket around 5:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a robbery.

According to witnesses, two men, one brandishing a firearm, threatened the hotel staff and made off with the establishment’s safe.

Fortunately, no one was harmed during the incident.

Police have provided descriptions of the two suspects in hopes of advancing their investigation.

The first individual was seen wearing a grey jumper along with grey tracksuit pants.

The second suspect was dressed in a dark-colored jumper and matching tracksuit pants.

Both had their faces covered.

It’s believed they are driving a 2013-model Volvo station wagon described as beige in colour, with NSW registration CJZ 08Z.

The vehicle was reported stolen from Petersham on January 23.

People are warned to not approach the men if seen, but to call Triple Zero.
