Police in Oregon are searching for an 11-year-old boy who could be in danger, according to the Oregon Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division.

ABC 9 reports that Chayton Owings was last seen in Eugene on June 21 “at some point.” ODHS reportedly said that Chayton may be trying to get to the Florence area.

“Sometimes when a child is missing they may be in significant danger and ODHS may need to locate them to assess and support their safety,” ODHS said, according to NBC 16.

“As ODHS works to do everything it can to find these missing children and assess their safety, media alerts will be issued in some circumstances when it is determined necessary. Sometimes, in these situations, a child may go missing repeatedly, resulting in more than one media alert for the same child.”

Chayton is described as a white male who stands 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 65 pounds. He has brown hair and blue/grey eyes.

Anyone with information on the child’s whereabouts should call 911 or your local law enforcement.
