In Virginia, authorities detained a woman and her partner following a domestic incident at their residence, where they discovered their 5-month-old daughter suffering from severe injuries that necessitated urgent medical care.

The Culpeper Police Department reported that the infant was initially taken to UVA-Culpeper Medical Center before being transferred to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville for treatment of her critical injuries.

Both Brittnei Mosher, aged 20, and Alexander Lowe, aged 22, face charges of child abuse and neglect and are currently held in custody without the option of bail.

The child has been placed under protective care, with Mosher and Lowe being issued protective orders that include restrictions on contact.
