A North Carolina man who was just released from prison was arrested on Monday for killing his mother and brother.
Dana Jenkins, aged 50, and her 15-year-old son Daryn Cox were discovered dead in a home in Wilson. Authorities identified Da’ron Jenkins, 25, as the suspect; he is Dana’s older son. Family friends informed WRAL that he had not been in touch with the family for several years due to his time in prison.
WITN reported that Da’ron Jenkins was released from prison on March 25 for larceny of firearms and breaking into vehicles.
“I said the look on his face, he’s getting ready to do something. You could see it. The look, it told you everything, but I had no idea you were getting ready to do what you did,” Dana Jenkins’ cousin told WITN, speaking about the son accused of her murder.
Wilson police are investigating what led up to Monday’s double homicide.
Meanwhile, Da’ron Jenkins was charged with first-degree murder. He remains jailed without bond.
