Ashtin Jarvis, with a “Will Run” license plate on his motorcycle, fled cops in a multi-city chase with speeds up to 145 mph on March 12, 2024, Florida deputies said. (Volusia County Sheriff’s Office)

While he did say he “Will Run” that probably won’t be a very effective defense at his trial.

Cops in Florida arrested a motorcyclist with a “Will Run” license plate after a chase through several cities with speeds upwards of 145 mph, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, a deputy was patrolling the area of Dunlawton Avenue in Port Orange when he saw a group of motorcycles popping wheelies. He saw one of the motorcyclists had the license plate “Will Run,” which he recognized as one who allegedly fled police during “Bike Week” the week before.

The deputy noticed the license plate was invalid and started following the crew. He pulled up to them at a stop light, got out of his car, and walked up to them. That’s when the motorcyclist, identified as 19-year-old Ashtin Jarvis, allegedly took off.

The sheriff’s office posted a video montage of Jarvis’ joyride. He ran stop lights and weaved in and out of traffic. The sheriff’s helicopter followed Jarvis from the air.

Jarvis eventually got on to I-4, where he increased his speed.

“He’s still on westbound I-4,” said the deputy in the helicopter. “High rate of speed. He’s matching our speed now. We’re doing about 130, and he’s pulling away from us.”
