upclose snapshot of Emily Rogers

Police have multiple suspects in custody related to the death of Emily Rogers, the Wisconsin mother whose body was found Thursday in a Milwaukee suburb.

Rogers, 23, was last seen on April 26 at around 4:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Becher Street in Milwaukee, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Her cellphone was later found near Burnham Park, in some bushes near 36th and Branting, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

Police shut down the park on Monday while conducting an unsuccessful search there for Rogers, and on Tuesday, they declared her “critically missing.”

Reports on social media said Monday that Rogers’ 1-year-old daughter was missing, but investigators later said she had been located and was safe with Rogers’ family.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Rogers moved to Wisconsin from Texas several months ago with her boyfriend, who was reportedly the last person to see her alive. Rogers’ body was found behind a building in St Francis.

The medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy on Friday and ruled Rogers’ death a homicide, but the cause of death has not been released. According to the medical examiner, the boyfriend is considered a suspect. He was arrested on May 1 on a parole violation, and he has not been identified since he hasn’t been charged with Rogers’ death.

The identity of the other suspects is unknown.
