Nancy Grace Says Missing Nancy Guthrie’s Kidnapper Is Possibly ‘Someone Local’

Nancy Grace of CrimeOnline suggests that a “local individual” could be linked to the mysterious disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old grandmother from Arizona.

Guthrie vanished from Catalina Foothills, a wealthy, unincorporated area roughly seven miles north of Tucson. This community, highlighted by Visit Tucson, is known for the picturesque “mountain peaks of the Santa Catalina Mountains” and features “approximately 44.6 miles of desert,” as reported by AZ Central.

The mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, Nancy was last observed at her residence just before 10 p.m. on a Saturday, according to CrimeOnline’s previous coverage. Her family reported her missing the following day, around noon.

Grace expressed to FOX News Digital, “There’s a red light, a stop sign, a QuikTrip, something,” she emphasized. “That’s what I’m shouting right now: use technology and trace that road.”

She added, “In neighborhoods like this, there’s typically a single exit to reach the main street. That’s typical of upscale areas.”

After Guthrie’s disappearance, a ransom note surfaced, sent to CBS affiliate KOLD in Tucson and entertainment tabloid TMZ, with TMZ reporting it before notifying the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.

“Who would send the ransom note to TMZ? And I believe the local is KOLD, a local outlet,” Grace asked. “Somebody local, somebody who’s familiar with TMZ. Who logs onto TMZ? Who clicks there?”

Grace also questioned why someone would send a ransom note to the media but not to Guthrie’s family, “if this ransom note is real.”

Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings posted a video on Instagram, pleading for their mother’s safe return.

“We are ready to talk,” Savannah said in the video, while seated with her sister, Annie, and brother, Camron.

“However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her.”

“We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us.”

On Wednesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated he believes Nancy Guthrie is still alive, although he admitted that “we have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here.”

So far, no suspects or persons of interest have been named.

The FBI said a $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to Nancy Guthrie.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.
