Lucy Letby took immense pride in her role as a caregiver for newborns.
Working in the neonatal unit, she was entrusted with the care of the hospital’s most delicate patients. However, a shocking discovery emerged when the hospital noticed an alarming spike in infant fatalities within a single month—numbers that typically would take a year to reach.
An ensuing investigation uncovered that Letby was the only nurse present during the demise of seven infants.
The tragic incidents unfolded over a year, during which seven babies lost their lives, and six others narrowly survived. Letby’s methods included injecting air into intravenous lines, poisoning, and force-feeding milk to her victims.
Particularly targeting twins and triplets, Letby’s actions have now been chronicled in a significant new Netflix documentary titled “The Investigation of Lucy Letby.”
