NC Man Charged With Killing Girlfriend’s Toddler Son

A 30-year-old man from North Carolina faces murder charges following the death of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son, who passed away Sunday after being admitted to the hospital on Friday with severe head injuries and extensive bruising.

According to The Raleigh News & Observer, Lance Nolan Pearce was initially charged with intentional child abuse leading to serious bodily harm. However, the charges were escalated after the tragic death of the boy, who was named Jensen Scott Jackson.

Emergency medical personnel were callsed to the home on Thursday night to a report of a child having a seizure. He was taken to WakeMed at that time.

The Johnston County Department of Social Services has taken two other children, aged 2 and 3, for medical assessments at the hospital, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

Pearce is being held at the Johnston County Detention Center without bond, WTVD reported.
