NC Man Gets Kicked Out of Bar for Fighting, Returns With Machete and Brass Knuckles

A man from North Carolina, expelled from a bar in Charlotte for fighting with another customer, returned 30 minutes later wielding a machete and brass knuckles to attack the customer.

“Remember me?” Matthew King, 39, asked as he approached the victim from behind at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, attempting to strike him with the brass knuckles, WBTV reported.

Then, police said, he swung the 18-inch machete at the victim’s head. The victim raised his hand to block the attack and suffered a severe cut.

Witnesses subdued King and disarmed him, while the victim was taken to the hospital for surgery. During the scuffle, one witness received a cut on his thigh, WCCB reported.

King himself was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries he suffered when bar patrons stopped his attack, according to WBTV.

King has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, jail records show.
