Brian Walshe, a resident of Cohasset, has been formally charged with the murder of his wife, Ana Walshe. Ana disappeared following a New Year’s Eve celebration in January 2023.

Authorities allege that the 48-year-old husband dismembered Ana and disposed of her remains in various trash containers within the vicinity. Investigators have discovered blood-stained evidence at their residence, including a hacksaw.

Walshe has entered a plea of ‘not guilty’ to the charge of first-degree murder. While he remains in custody at the Norfolk County jail in Dedham, reports have surfaced that Walshe was attacked and stabbed while incarcerated. He was transported to a Boston hospital for treatment and was discharged later the same evening.

The Norfolk County Sheriff’s office has reported that the assault involved a “makeshift blunt instrument,” and the incident was captured on the facility’s surveillance cameras.

Walshe is scheduled for his next competency hearing on November 14, with jury selection slated to commence on November 18.
