Ohio Man Executes Ex-Girlfriend’s Boyfriend While He Sings Karaoke, Flees to South Carolina

An Ohio man has been arrested and charged with shooting his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in the back of the head while he sang karaoke.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office stated that it attended to a shooting report at Louie’s Corner House in Buckeye Lake shortly before midnight on July 11.

They discovered a man, later recognized as 42-year-old Benjamin Hawk, deceased from a gunshot wound to the back of his head, Law&Crime reported. The sheriff’s office identified Richard Lindgren, aged 59, as the suspect, prompting a manhunt.

He was spotted more than 500 miles away in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where he was arrested and is awaiting extradition.

The criminal complaint details that Hawk and his girlfriend were singing karaoke on the bar’s outdoor patio when Lindgren came up behind Hawk, pulled out a small handgun, and shot him in the back of the head. Other bar patrons, who witnessed the incident, pursued the suspect and alerted 911, although the perpetrator managed to escape.
