An Ohio woman has been formally charged with child abuse spanning a period of four years.

The indictment alleges that 37-year-old Anjelicia Stewart mistreated three children between 2021 and 2025, including attempts to drown them in the bathtub while shouting threats to their lives.

According to the report from WXIX, the document also details incidents where Stewart allegedly struck the children with belts and a metal dog clasp and choked them to the point of unconsciousness. In one particularly harrowing instance, a child reportedly stopped breathing and had to be revived by another child.

Stewart remains at large, with authorities having issued a warrant for her arrest.

Officials have not disclosed the nature of Stewart’s relationship with the children, aged 14, 8, and 2, other than confirming they were under her supervision, as reported by WLWT.

The charges against Stewart include four counts of attempted murder, five counts of felonious assault, eight counts of child endangerment, and one count of gross sexual imposition.
