Nevada authorities have identified a man found dead in a pool of blood at the annual Burning Man Festival over the weekend.
On Saturday night, 37-year-old Vadim Kruglov was discovered deceased around the same time the main event torching commenced, as indicated by the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office. He was declared dead at the location.
His family has been notified. Cause and manner of death have not been determined.
Kruglov was said to be a Russian native who lived in Tacoma, Washington.
The Sheriff’s Office reported that one of their deputies was alerted by a festival attendee during the upscale, avant-garde event taking place in Nevada’s desert on Saturday night. The participant mentioned spotting “a male subject lying in a pool of blood,” according to CrimeOnline.
Officials, including deputies and Bureau of Land Management rangers, arrived at the campsite. They discovered a man “lying on the ground, clearly deceased” at the festival venue, situated approximately 110 miles north of Reno in the Black Rock Desert.
Investigators are asking anyone at the festival who was in the area of “8:30” and “I” between 8 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. that night to come forward.
