Three more alleged gang members arrested as police seize $12.5m worth of drugs

Authorities have apprehended three additional suspected members of a youth gang in Sydney, charging them with drug supply offenses. During the operation, police confiscated 40 kilograms of illicit substances, estimated to be worth $12.5 million.

In a major advance in the investigation of the alleged KVT gang, detectives carried out a search warrant at a residence in Edmondson Park around 5:30 am yesterday.

Officers took a 28-year-old man into custody, transporting him to Liverpool Police Station. He now faces numerous charges, including directing the activities of a criminal organization and the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs.

The man was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Liverpool Local Court today.

Earlier, shortly before 5 am, police stopped a vehicle on the Great Western Highway in Glenbrook.

The 28-year-old driver was arrested by the officers at the scene.

He was taken to Springwood Police Station, where he was charged with an array of offences, including supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, participating in a criminal group and four counts of supplying prohibited drugs greater than the indictable amount and equal to a large commercial quantity.

He was refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court today.

About 6.30am yesterday, detectives also arrested a 24-year-old man in Peakhurst.

He was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with multiple offences including two counts of supplying prohibited drugs greater than a large commercial quantity, dealing with proceeds of crime greater than $5000 and failure to comply with digital evidence access order directions.

He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court today.

During the search warrants, detectives located and seized approximately 40 kilograms of illicit drugs with an estimated street value of $12.5 million.

The charges relate to the alleged supply of approximately 55kg of illicit drugs, with an estimated street value of $16.5 million.

Strike Force Duncan initially began to investigate the illegal activities of organised crime networks.

These operations included the theft, supply, and staging of alleged “kill cars”, as well as drug supply.

In September, strike force detectives began investigations into the alleged drug supply activities of three men linked to the KVT gang.
