A man from Pennsylvania has been accused of traveling approximately 1,000 miles to seek a meeting with a 14-year-old social media influencer at her residence in Florida after allegedly sending her explicit photos and messages.
Jarred Logan Easter, 29, faces charges of soliciting a minor online for sexual purposes, distributing harmful material, traveling with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor, and utilizing a communication device to facilitate a felony, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The statement described Easter as having developed “a delusional online fixation” with the girl.
“This individual misguidedly believed he had a relationship with a child,” stated Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “We are relieved the intended victim was shielded from viewing his communications, and we are committed to ensuring no further individuals suffer from this predator. Those who cross state lines to harm children will face arrest.”
Easter initiated contact with the girl on May 26 through emails featuring explicit images and descriptions of his intentions, according to a probable cause affidavit.
“U HAV TO TELL ME Where U ARE?? & I WILL BE THERE. CUZ U SEXY AS F—,” Easter allegedly wrote in the first email.
Another message allegedly read: “WE ARE SOOO GONNA GET TOGETHER? U SUH SEXY FRfr.”
He persisted in emailing daily until June 10, when the girl’s father discovered the communications and alerted the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Despite no responses, Easter continued sending emails, authorities noted.
At some point, Easter figured out where the girl lived, police say.
On Aug. 16, Easter allegedly showed up to the girl’s home in Florida’s Panhandle after making the 1,000-mile trek from his home outside Philadelphia. He entered the driveway where he identified himself as “Jared” to the victim’s father. Easter asked her father if he could see her.
“The victim’s father told him no and that she was just a child,” deputies wrote.
Her father recognized Easter from his photos and called the police, who showed up to the home but could not find Easter.
Cops arrested him on Tuesday and he remains in the Walton County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
Easter’s next court date is scheduled for Sept. 16.
The sheriff’s office gave tips to parents on how to avoid a situation like this:
- Regularly monitor your child’s online accounts and direct messages.
- Encourage children not to share identifiable details such as school names, neighborhoods, or frequent hangout spots.
- Use privacy settings to limit who can see or comment on your child’s posts.
- Remind teens that followers are not friends—treat every interaction with caution.
- Report any suspicious contact immediately to law enforcement.
