A Michigan man is accused of pistol-whipping his girlfriend — his senior by 14 years — inside of his car and shooting the gun as they sat in the enclosed space.

Bradly Carl Dickens, 48, faces charges including unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, domestic violence, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

On Aug. 30, at about 11:30 a.m., Dickens is alleged to have attacked his girlfriend — a 62-year-old woman — at her home on the 15200 block of Kerstyn Street in Taylor. The defendant also hails from the city, which is located just to the southeast of Detroit, authorities said.

The alleged violence was not isolated to the home, according to a press release issued by Wayne County prosecutors.

Dickens reportedly “forced” his girlfriend into his vehicle and then drove to the intersection of Beech Daly Road and Leroy Street, “before striking the victim multiple times in her head with a handgun and firing the handgun inside of the vehicle multiple times,” authorities say.

The victim was able to escape from the vehicle, and Dickens “fled from the scene,” prosecutors allege.

The Taylor Police Department had been investigating the incident before his arrest on Tuesday.

Dickens was arraigned on Thursday and received a $200,000 cash bond with a “GPS tether” — a device released defendants may be ordered to wear so that their whereabouts are monitored.

“Dickens was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, no alcohol or drugs, and no firearms,” prosecutors added.

The defendant will next appear in court for a probable cause conference on Oct. 6.
