WNCN interviewed Jorge Bravo, the driver of that SUV who stopped to help the victims of the crash after it occurred. Bravo told WNCN that Singleton reportedly had a lot to say in the aftermath of the collision, which injured Singleton, his wife, and the two men inside the Toyota Camry.
Referring to Singleton, Bravo said, “He was like, ‘Oh, that’s not an accident. I was trying to kill my wife and myself. We were fighting each other. We’re trying to kill each other. We’re definitely going to the psych ward.””
Police stated that they did not believe Singleton was impaired at the time of the alleged crash.
Bravo told WNCN that a paramedic also happened to drive by the crash site and stayed to provide assistance to the four injured victims. He said he witnessed Singleton’s wife “kind of just [fall] out of the passenger door and just kind of just [lay] there.”
All four people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital for serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Singleton was released from the hospital and is currently in custody at Wake County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
Singleton was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill causing serious injuries, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, careless and reckless driving, and driving left of center by patrol.
