Florida authorities are looking for “person of interest” after finding a woman dead in a Port St. Lucie hotel room Monday morning.
Lt. Andrew Bolonka said the victim had been identified, but officials were withholding the name pending notification of next of kin.
The woman was discovered shortly after 11 a.m. by cleaning staff, according to Bolonka. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced her dead. Investigators swiftly concluded that it was a case of murder, although they did not disclose the method by which she was killed.
Bolonka further mentioned that investigators were on the lookout for a person of interest who used a woman’s credit card to check into the room at the Best Western. He did not specify if the woman was seen alive with this individual at that time and could not clarify “the relationship between the credit card and the deceased.”
He also did not provide a description or any other information about the man he described as a “person of interest.”
