NEWBERRY, Fla. – In a troubling incident yesterday, 29-year-old Ryder Skye Mock found himself under arrest after allegedly assaulting a woman and causing extensive damage to her pickup truck with a metal pipe.

The confrontation unfolded around 3 p.m. on April 9, according to a deputy from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. During a heated argument with the victim, Mock reportedly unleashed his fury on her vehicle. He is accused of shattering the front driver’s side window, the rear driver’s side window, the side mirror, and the front windshield. Additionally, he allegedly dented the truck’s front grill, along with both doors and the front quarter panel on the driver’s side. The estimated cost to repair these damages is expected to exceed $1,000.

The victim managed to capture the harrowing episode on video, which shows her expressing a desire to leave while sitting inside the truck, visibly distressed as Mock wielded the pipe against her vehicle. The deputy noted that the video evidence clearly depicts the victim’s fear of being struck by the weapon.

Following the incident, Mock faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony property damage. His criminal history includes three felony convictions, one of which was violent, and three non-violent misdemeanor convictions. Currently, Mock is on probation for two drug-related cases and has previously served time in state prison, being released in 2022. In light of these factors, Senior Judge Bo Bayer has ordered Mock to be held without bail until a hearing on a motion filed by the State Attorney’s Office, which seeks to keep him detained until trial. If the motion is denied, the question of bail will be addressed at that hearing.
