A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper has been placed on administrative leave following charges of rape brought against him by the West Plains police.

According to court filings, a woman accused Ethan Minge of visiting her residence on July 27, where he allegedly attempted to engage in sexual activity with her, as reported by KMBC. Despite her repeated refusals, Minge allegedly forced her onto her back and committed the act.

The affidavit details that Minge texted the woman the following day, acknowledging her refusals and offering an apology.

The woman reported the incident to authorities in October, according to KRCG.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol released a statement noting that Minge had been with the department since January 2024, serving in Troop G.

“We are aware of the arrest of Trooper Ethan Minge following a criminal investigation by the West Plains Police Department,” stated Captain Scott White, from the MSHP Public Information and Education Division.

“In accordance with Patrol policy, our Professional Standards Division has been notified of the incident. While the administrative review process continues, Trooper Minge is on administrative leave with no pay, effective December 9.”

Minge pleaded not guilty in his initial court appearance and was given a $10,000 bond, KMBC said. He is not currently listed on a jail roster.
