Chad Ollinger, known for his appearance on the Discovery Channel’s “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch,” faces charges of open murder.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers at the Clark County Detention Center discovered a man lying unresponsive in a cell on Friday.
The police press release indicated that upon entering the cell, officers found the inmate with visible blunt force injuries.
Further investigation revealed that Ollinger, aged 41, was involved in a confrontation with his cellmate, resulting in the latter’s death on site.
News Channel 10 noted that Texas authorities apprehended Ollinger in Amarillo in November 2024 after he allegedly ran a red light and attempted to flee from law enforcement.
In an interview with TMZ, Ollinger reflected, “All I know is this one thing: it was a hell of a ride until I got off of that Harley crossbone.”
After posting bond, police near Pampa, Texas, arrested Ollinger for driving 10% or more over the limit, and driving with an invalid license while having previous convictions.
Then, in October, police arrested Ollinger on a contempt of court charge.
A Potter County grand jury indicted him in January. A judge sentenced on the contempt charge in December, with a scheduled release for January 2026.
Meanwhile, People magazine reports that Ollinger’s father, Duane Ollinger, owns the Blind Frog Ranch in Utah.
The murder investigation is ongoing.
