Celeste Rivas Hernandez is just 13 when she is reported missing from her family home in Lake Elsinore, 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
The child, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds, was last spotted wearing a black shirt, gray pants, and Hello Kitty sandals. Her mother mentioned she had a boyfriend named “David.”
In a Hollywood Hills neighborhood, residents became frustrated with a damaged and dusty 2023 Tesla Model Y bearing a Texas license plate, as it had been parked on their street for a month. They reported it as abandoned. The vehicle was then towed to an impound lot. Days later, employees at Hollywood Tow noticed a strong odor emanating from the car and notified the police.
Police responding to the call discovered a decomposing body in a bag located in the frunk of the Tesla. This Tesla was registered to David Anthony Burke, also known as the singer/songwriter D4vd, in Hempstead, Texas. The vehicle had not been reported as stolen.
The heavily decomposed and partially dismembered remains identified in the Tesla were those of Celeste Rivas, who was 15 but had gone missing at age 13 over a year ago in Lake Elsinore, California. Her identification was confirmed through forensic analysis, though her cause of death remains undetermined.
A search warrant was executed at the house in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood, where singer D4vd resided, close to where the Tesla containing Celeste’s remains was found. Investigators removed a computer and bags of evidence from the residence, and upon opening the garage door, were seen examining another Tesla vehicle inside the garage.
