An “active shooter” has been reported near Atlanta’s Emory University at an Emory Point CVS.
Sources have confirmed to WANF that the shooter and a police officer are dead.
A significant law enforcement presence was dispatched to the vicinity surrounding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Emory University Hospital, and Emory Point, a mixed-use development next to the Emory campus.
On Friday afternoon, as reported by WAGA, news teams noted hearing gunshots close to the CDC’s main campus. Concurrently, Emory officials issued a “RUN, HIDE, FIGHT” alert on X.
Emory Point, situated off Clifton Road, sits across from the CDC’s main campus, and near the university.
Dozens of “fully-loaded police vehicles” were at the scene, after numerous police vehicles were reportedly shot at.
SKYFOX 5 reported seeing what appeared to be a body covered, in front of the store, at around 5:45 p.m.
Both the school and Emory University Hospital are currently on lockdown, but shelter in place orders have been lifted.
