A man faces charges following an alleged hammer attack on another driver, stemming from a road rage incident in Melbourne’s south-west.
The altercation took place after an alleged collision between two vehicles on McGrath Road in Wyndham Vale, around 8:45 p.m. last night.
After the crash, a confrontation erupted, during which one man reportedly struck the other with a hammer.

The 53-year-old victim managed to return to his car and drive to Chapman Drive, but was later hospitalized with severe injuries to his upper body.
Meanwhile, the other driver, a 36-year-old, fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended and charged.
The Werribee man was charged with intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault and assault with a weapon.
He was bailed to appear at court on April 2.
