A New Jersey school janitor is facing prison time after confessing to filming himself engaging in offensive acts with cafeteria utensils and contaminating food with bleach that was consumed by children and staff.
Giovanni Impellizzeri, aged 25, was sentenced to eight years behind bars, with a requirement to serve five years before becoming eligible for parole, as announced by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. After completing his prison term, he will remain on probation indefinitely.

The case came to light in the fall of 2023 when the Elizabeth F. Moore School in Upper Deerfield Township received information about Impellizzeri posting several disturbing videos on Telegram. These videos depicted him inappropriately rubbing his private parts on various utensils, according to a probable cause affidavit. He also spat on and contaminated multiple pieces of bread before placing them back into the container for serving. Other videos showed him engaging in acts such as urinating on pillows and cafeteria bowls, and spraying bleach on cucumbers.
Telegram users saved several of the videos and forwarded them to the school who in turn immediately alerted law enforcement. Cops identified Impellizzeri, who had worked for the school district for about four years, as the man in the videos. The school discarded any of the utensils or other items Impellizzeri had handled.
Prosecutors charged the janitor with aggravated assault, tampering with food items and official misconduct. A subsequent investigation unveiled that Impellizzeri was in possession of child sexually abusive material and he was charged with that as well.
In January, the defendant pleaded guilty to the official misconduct and possession of child sexually abusive material charges.
