Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, emergency personnel rushed to the World Gym situated on Steer Road, Gregory Hills, following an urgent call.
According to eyewitness reports, two men armed with pistols confronted a 48-year-old man outside the gym, discharging a total of 12 shots at him.
Remarkably unharmed, the targeted individual managed to escape to safety, while the suspected assailants made their getaway in a red Range Rover SUV.
The vehicle was soon discovered on Macquarie Grove Road in Cobbitty, not long after the incident.
Authorities claim they uncovered clothing, masks, cloned license plates, and two pistols hidden in the nearby bushland.
Early on Monday morning, around 5 a.m. on March 30, police carried out a search warrant in Parramatta as part of their ongoing investigation.
They arrested a 40-year-old man and charged him with attempted murder and directing the activities of a criminal group.
At about 6.10am the same morning, police executed another search warrant in Burwood, where they arrested a 32-year-old man and charged him with multiple offences including attempted murder.
Both men were refused bail and will next appear in court on May 28.
At about 10am yesterday, police arrested a 38-year-old man in Silverwater and charged him with multiple offences including attempted murder.
He will face bail court today.
The investigation is ongoing.
