A resident of Grant Luxury Condos made a chilling discovery upon reaching the second-floor stairwell: a severed human foot that appeared alarmingly real, not just a Halloween prop. The sight prompted the resident to alert the building’s doorman, who quickly dialed 911. As emergency responders arrived, they found the rest of a woman’s body three floors above, leading them to conclude that the victim had fallen from a height of at least 20 stories.

The victim was soon identified as Caitlin Tracey. Her husband, Adam Beckerink, was promptly taken into custody after he had reported Caitlin missing just a day before her body was discovered. Contrary to Beckerink’s claim that he hadn’t seen Caitlin for months, surveillance footage captured the couple at the Grant Luxury Condos merely three days before her tragic death.

Despite the circumstances, the lack of concrete evidence tying Beckerink to a crime forced the Chicago Police to release him from custody after holding him for 48 hours. This development left the investigation open-ended as authorities sought to piece together the events leading to Caitlin’s demise.

The medical examiner’s report detailed the extent of Caitlin’s injuries, painting a harrowing picture of her fall from 24 floors. Her body was described as “pulverized,” with multiple skull fractures and a deep laceration on the back of her head that exposed cranial contents. Additionally, her face and neck bore cuts and bruises, her nose was severely broken, internal organs were damaged, and her foot had been severed.

With no real proof Beckerink committed a crime, Chicago Police are forced to release Beckerink 48 hours later.

The medical examiner finds Caitlin’s body “pulverized,” suffering multiple injuries while falling 24 floors. The report notes multiple skull fractures, a deep gaping laceration on the back of her head exposing cranial content, cuts and bruises to her face and neck, a badly broken nose, sliced internal organs, and a severed foot.

Caitlyn also suffered an 11-inch laceration on her torso, and the coroner made note of a 12-by-10-inch area of intense black and brown abrasions on her back.

Raising even more questions, cocaine and an erectile dysfunction drug, tadalafil, are found in Caitlin’s system.
