New Kohberger evidence reveals what Idaho roommates saw the night of the murders.
As stated in court documents, a surviving roommate, referred to as “D.M.” which stands for Dylan Mortensen, spotted one of the victims on the floor hours before making a 911 call.
On the night the tragic events occurred, around 4 a.m., D.M. noticed a man dressed in black and wearing a ski mask. She attempted to contact her roommates via calls and texts and got a response from “B.F.,” identified as Bethany Funke in the documents, advising her to retreat to her bedroom. While rushing towards Funke’s room, Mortensen supposedly saw Xana Kernodle lying on the bedroom floor, her head close to the wall and her feet facing the door. Throughout the night, the two surviving roommates continued to exchange text messages.
Bryan Kohberger has been charged with the murder of University of Idaho students Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin at their off-campus residence in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022.
