Docs: Ohio Mom Suffocated Tot Daughter With Bag Over Her Head

A tragic incident in Ohio has led to a mother facing murder charges after she reportedly confessed to suffocating her 3-year-old daughter by placing a bag over her head.

Authorities responded to an emergency call around 5:30 PM on Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers from the Columbus Division of Police discovered the young girl, Cassidy Sakoulos, in an unresponsive state, as reported by WBNS. She was immediately transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead within half an hour.

Sharon Sakoulos, the child’s 41-year-old mother, is now facing murder charges in connection with her daughter’s death. Court documents reveal that the toddler had noticeable bruising, and Sakoulos allegedly admitted to deliberately suffocating her daughter with a bag.

Sakoulos is scheduled for an arraignment on Friday, as reported by WSYX. The report also mentioned that Franklin County Children’s Services had not been involved with the family for over 18 months.
