GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have arrested 31-year-old Alicia Nicole Walker, charging her in connection to a hit-and-run incident in April and for allegedly using a false identity while reporting a crime last month.
The April incident reportedly occurred when Walker backed into another car at a drive-through on April 5, leaving the scene without providing her information. The victims, who recognized her, followed her to her apartment complex, where a confrontation ensued. During the altercation, Walker is accused of deliberately ramming her vehicle into the victims’ car, which was occupied by three people, and then fleeing the scene.
According to the Gainesville Police Department officer on the scene, Walker initially claimed the victims’ car had hit hers and denied being at the drive-through. However, she retracted her statement after the officer mentioned available surveillance footage from the location. At that point, Walker reportedly refused to answer further questions without legal counsel. The officer noted that her vehicle displayed damage along the entire driver’s side.
Walker now faces charges of aggravated battery related to this incident.
On the night of September 5, around 11:50 p.m., an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report at the Eastside Food Store located at 3423 SE Hawthorne Road. Walker claimed she had been robbed and assaulted by two women in the parking lot. During the investigation, the deputy discovered that Walker had provided a false name, presumably to avoid arrest on the outstanding warrant from the April case.
The deputy reported that Walker completed a sworn statement and affirmed under oath that the information on the statement, including her name, was true.
Walker has been charged with fraudulent use of another person’s identification information, perjury (not in an official proceeding), giving false information to an officer during a felony investigation, and knowingly making a false written statement to mislead a public servant in their official duties.
Walker has three felony convictions (one violent) and seven misdemeanor convictions (one violent). She was also booked on a warrant for failing to appear at hearings for intentionally hitting an occupied parked car in October 2024. Senior Judge Bo Bayer ordered her held without bond on the October 2024 case and set bail at $250,000 on the new charges.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
