During a recent appearance via audio-link at the Mandurah Magistrates Court, the defendant pled guilty to all charges against her. Her case has been expedited and is now scheduled for a sentencing mention in the District Court on March 27.
The presiding magistrate decided to extend the defendant’s bail under stringent conditions. These stipulations prohibit any contact with the boy involved and forbid unsupervised interactions with minors, except for her newborn child, who was born on January 8.
The court was informed that the defendant was not present in person due to a medical condition. However, Magistrate Clare Cullen emphasized that she must attend her next court appearance in person.
“At the time the alleged offenses began, the woman was employed as a teacher in the Mandurah District, and the male involved was a student,” a court spokesperson stated.
Initially, the defendant faced four charges in December, with prosecutors adding four more last week. Today, she faced an additional eight charges, which include five counts of sexually penetrating a child under the age of 13.
An additional eight charges were laid before she appeared in court today, including five counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13.
The offending started in August 2024 and continued until Craig was charged in December.
Other charges include a person who persistently engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 16 years and possessed child exploitation material.
Western Australian Police Commissioner Col Blanch has said a DNA test had been conducted after Craig gave birth and it was believed the victim was the father.
