UPDATE
Records from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois confirm the arrest of Michael David McKee.
The Columbus Dispatch indicates that McKee will stay in custody in Winnebago County until his transfer to Franklin County, Ohio.
A hearing is scheduled for January 12.
Initial Coverage
Authorities have charged an individual concerning the tragic deaths of Monique Tepe and her spouse, Ohio dentist Spencer Tepe, who were discovered with gunshot wounds in their Columbus residence.
Michael David McKee, 39, of Chicago, is currently facing two counts of murder, according to a warrant issued on January 10.
Records from the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas court identified McKee as Monique’s former husband, according to WBNS 10.
Investigators linked McKee to the murders through neighborhood security footage in the Tepe couple’s Columbus neighborhood.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the victims were found fatally shot inside their residence off of North 4th Street, after a family friend became concerned when Spencer failed to show up to his Athens dental practice.
The couple’s two children, ages 1 and 4, were found unharmed inside the residence.
The murders happened at some point between 2 and 5 a.m. that morning, according to police.

Court documents indicated that police also connected McKee “to a vehicle which arrived just prior to the homicides and left shortly after.”
Investigators later found the vehicle in Rockford, Illinois. They also found evidence that McKee had access to the vehicle.
The motive is currently unknown. Check back for updates.
