Police reported that Aaron Lloyd did not resist significantly during the interrogation. After being apprehended without any issues, he allegedly confessed to the police that he injected his mother, Lisa Lloyd, with methamphetamine before fatally assaulting her.
While police did not explicitly identify Aaron Lloyd as the “male subject” who called, that caller reportedly said that he not only killed “his mother” but also stowed her dead body in a garbage can. The garbage can and the body were found underneath the carport of Lisa Lloyd’s home on Park Circle.
A motive for the alleged murder was not provided.
Aaron Lloyd was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance, and distribution of schedule II drugs. According to police, he was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail, and the police department confirmed to Law&Crime that he is still in custody and bail had not yet been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, Opelousas Police Chief Graig LeBlanc called the case “deeply tragic,” adding, “We ask that everyone keep the Lloyd family lifted in prayer during this incredibly difficult time.”
Anderson also told local NBC affiliate KADN that Aaron Lloyd “did admit to the crime.” He said, “We really, right now, ask for prayers for the family. This is a tragic situation that has now fallen on our community. This is literally a son and a mother, and we ask for prayers at this time for the Lloyd family.”
According to KADN, Opelousas police stated that the investigation is ongoing.
