Sophia stayed in the Leon County Detention Facility instead of bailing out as of Thursday afternoon following her initial court appearance.

The court had approved the prosecution’s motion to seal the case file earlier that morning, as needed to shield the student’s identity under the state constitutional amendment known as Marsy’s Law. It is a 2018 crime victim’s bill of rights.
