Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 23-year-old Starke resident, Isaiah Sa’ron Williams, was apprehended on December 23 under charges of armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm. These charges stem from an incident in 2023 where he is accused of stealing a gun from a former housemate.

On January 15, 2023, officers from the Gainesville Police Department responded to a residence located north of NW 39th Avenue and east of NW 13th Street. The homeowner had received a security camera alert indicating that someone had breached his locked bedroom. The resident identified Williams, a previous tenant, as the intruder. The officer’s report states that Williams accessed the bedroom through an unlocked window, taking with him a hard drive and a Glock pistol.

Williams faces charges of armed burglary and grand theft of a firearm. He has a history of legal issues, having served time in state prison for armed trespassing in Bradford County, from which he was released in 2022. Previous charges in 2021, including burglary and dealing in stolen property, were dismissed. Following his recent arrest, Judge William Davis issued a warrant, setting his bail at $200,000, though the Alachua County Jail lists it as $125,000.

Reports on arrests are derived from information provided by law enforcement agencies. The details mentioned are from arrest records or court documents and represent allegations. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
