In a startling sequence of events, two shootings unfolded just an hour apart in separate suburbs, resulting in one arrest. Authorities, however, do not believe these incidents are connected.
The evening’s first shooting erupted shortly before 8:45 p.m. on Northcott Road, Lalor Park. Multiple gunshots fired from a residence struck a man on the street, sending ripples of alarm through the neighborhood.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, received immediate medical attention at the scene for his gunshot wound. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
In a swift response, police arrested a 46-year-old man from a nearby house early the next morning. He was brought to Riverstone Police Station for further questioning regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, approximately an hour later, another shooting occurred on Arundle Road in Bass Hill. This time, a 25-year-old man found himself the target, sustaining gunshot wounds.
Displaying remarkable fortitude, he managed to reach Liverpool Hospital on his own, where medical staff treated injuries to his leg, arm, and chest. He remains in a serious but stable condition, receiving ongoing care.
A car was also found on fire on Rex Road, Georges Hall, which police believe is connected to the shooting in Bass Hill.
