On Saturday night, law enforcement responded to a call on Blaxland Road in Ryde around 10:50 p.m., following a report of a disturbing incident.
According to the information received, at approximately 10:25 p.m., a woman at the location was confronted by an unknown assailant wielding a knife. The man, whose face was obscured and who was wearing latex gloves, made threatening demands.
In response, the woman handed over a sum of cash. Despite her compliance, the suspect allegedly proceeded to physically and sexually assault her before fleeing the scene.
The next morning, at about 8:15 a.m., detectives conducted a search in Castle Hill, which led to the arrest of a 21-year-old male suspect.
The individual has since been charged with robbery, assault, and sexual assault. Authorities have denied him bail, and he is scheduled to appear in court today.
He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
