In a harrowing incident on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, an 18-year-old man was urgently airlifted to a hospital after sustaining significant head injuries. The young man fell from the roof of a moving vehicle, leading to a critical situation that unfolded at St Andrew’s Beach.
The unfortunate event has resulted in severe legal consequences for another 18-year-old, who was allegedly behind the wheel. This individual now faces an array of charges linked to the accident.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. yesterday, involving a group of seven youths. Five of them were inside a Holden Cruze, and two were precariously positioned on the roof.
The accident took place in a parking area on Paradise Road, where one of the young men lost his grip and fell from the vehicle. This fall necessitated immediate medical attention.
According to Ambulance Victoria, the injured individual was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he is being treated for upper body injuries, described as critical.
The driver, a resident of Glen Waverley, has been charged with multiple offenses, including driving in a manner dangerous causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, along with other driving-related infractions.
He was bailed to appear before Dromana Magistrates’ Court on January 22, 2026.
