A tragic incident unfolded in Georgia when a 16-year-old girl was fatally shot on November 27. The suspect, a 15-year-old boy, allegedly attacked her while she was waiting for an Uber, wearing earphones. Authorities say the boy, along with other teens, was taunting her because she was mourning her late boyfriend.

Speaking to local ABC affiliate WSB, Taylor Hamilton’s mother, Nandi Hamilton, expressed that the group was upset with her daughter for continuing to honor her boyfriend’s memory. This tension escalated into a deadly encounter in Clayton County on that fateful day.

Nandi Hamilton recounted the heartbreaking moment, showing WSB a doorbell camera video where Taylor, with her earphones on, was calmly waiting for her Uber, which was only “five minutes away,” according to her mother.

Describing the alleged perpetrator, Hamilton did not hold back, calling him “a monster” and stating that he “shot her in cold blood.”

WSB reports that the video footage purportedly captures the 15-year-old confronting Taylor after a Thanksgiving gathering, becoming increasingly agitated before drawing a gun. Despite the threat, Taylor reportedly dismissed his actions, saying, “I don’t care about no gun,” before turning away, tragically unaware of the imminent danger.

According to WSB, the doorbell camera footage allegedly shows the 15-year-old taunting and getting upset with Taylor after a Thanksgiving gathering before brandishing a weapon. “I don’t care about no gun,” Taylor reportedly told him, before turning her attention away from the boy.

The teens allegedly taunted Taylor some more before she got in the shooter’s face, prompting him to open fire.

“I feel sorry for him that he’s that cold. To do something so monstrous,” Hamilton said, telling WSB that she believed her daughter was lured to the Thanksgiving gathering to be targeted. “I don’t know how he was that angry to pull out a gun and shoot her.”

The 15-year-old was arrested and charged with malice murder, first-degree child cruelty, possession of a firearm by someone under 16 and possession of a firearm during a felony. His identity is currently being withheld by police.
