A 19-year-old man has been charged after an alleged assault left a Norwegian tourist with a broken arm in St Kilda.
The alleged attack occurred on December 18 after a group of up to eight people approached the 34-year-old man in Melbourne’s inner suburbs and allegedly accused him of taking photos of others.

A man’s phone was reportedly seized and hurled into the water before he was attacked.

He was taken to hospital after suffering a broken arm, and has since returned home despite planning to stay in Australia for Christmas.

In a turn of events last night, a 19-year-old resident of Deer Park voluntarily walked into a police station.

He was interviewed by police, and subsequently charged with intentionally causing injury, robbery, affray and theft.

The young man has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 8 of the following year.
