A chaotic scene unfolded when a teenage boy was stabbed following an end-of-year school party that spiraled out of control.

As many as 100 uninvited guests crashed the event at a Brisbane residence last night, leading to drunken disturbances that spilled onto the streets.

Oriel Road in Clayfield, located in the northern part of the city, was soon swarming with emergency vehicles and flashing lights as the celebration took a dangerous turn.

Jarrah Lloyd recounted returning home at 9 p.m. to find “a couple of hundred kids roaming the streets, all very intoxicated.”

Police commended the parents hosting the event for registering the party with authorities beforehand, even as gatecrashers learned about it through social media.

“The parents decided to cancel the party and asked everyone to leave, which resulted in a large gathering of students and teenagers on the street,” explained Chief Inspector Karl Hahne.

Dozens of teenagers ended up on the streets, where the 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the back.

“It went on for a couple of hours, sort of ramped up, got louder and louder as the evening went on, and then started to hear bangs and screaming,” nearby resident Olivia Dean-Jones said.

Police say the teen had surgery and his injuries were not life threatening.
