An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Texas man, who was gunned down while mowing his lawn.
According to 12 News Now, an incident occurred on Saturday, just after 1:30 p.m., involving Brian Lewis, aged 51. Lewis was shot as he mowed his lawn on the 1900 block of Delaware Street in Beaumont. Beaumont Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find Lewis unresponsive in his front yard.
EMS pronounced Lewis dead at the scene.
A witness reported seeing Lewis at work on his yard when an individual on a motorcycle approached, fired at Lewis, and then quickly left the scene. Authorities noted that the suspect rode off heading west down Delaware Street.
The police believe the driver is Larry Fitzgerald Williams, 54. An arrest warrant has been issued for Williams.
The Beaumont Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance. They are asking anyone who might have video footage or who witnessed the event to contact them at 409-832-1234, or to reach out to Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 833-TIPS (8477).
