Texas police arrested a woman on Saturday for allegedly sexually abusing a 7-year-old boy last year.
In March 2024, Waco police reportedly discovered that the victim had accused Shapasshun Brooks, 32, of coercing him into performing oral sex on her. According to the Waco Tribune, detectives tried reaching out to Brooks before issuing an arrest warrant, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
The Waco Tribune reported that this is the third time Brooks has been accused of crimes involving children.
Back in 2015, Brooks faced charges for not seeking medical care for a boy under her supervision. She was initially given five years of probation; however, in 2013, she was sentenced to 14 months in jail for breaking her curfew conditions.
On the same day, Brooks faced an additional charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger in 2022. She received another sentence of 14 months in jail, which was to be served concurrently with her other sentence.
In the latest case, Brooks is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault. She remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
Brooks’ relationship to the 7-year-old boy was not disclosed.
