The Weeknd looked ever-suave as he arrived at the Music In Action Awards hosted by the Black Music Action Coalition in West Hollywood on Thursday.

Having used his influential platform to support the Black Lives Matter movement, the singer, 31, was honoured with the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award which he gleefully showed off on the red carpet.

He certainly put his best fashion foot forward in a black wool jacket layered above a coordinating shirt and suit trousers.

A spokesperson told Variety: ‘The Weeknd and H.E.R. have both used their platforms to call attention to racial and social injustice and raise awareness globally.’

The songwriter blasted the Recording Academy in November when his blockbuster album After Hours was completely snubbed.

While the Recording Academy seemingly addressed his grievances about ‘secret committees’ in May by removing the controversial nominee review committees, his record label Republic did not submit any of his new music.

While The Weeknd hasn’t released a new album this year, he did release a new single entitled Save Your Tears in May.
