It’s believed a man used a hammer to smash the front entry glass door of a high-end clothing boutique in South Yarra at about 4.20am on May 12.
Police were told that more than $100,000 worth of designer ladies’ clothing, including cashmere coats and Linda blazers, were stolen.
The haul is believed to have been loaded into a supermarket trolley and then thrown in the back of a silver Ford Falcon ute.
The man then drove towards Yarra.
Police have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist the investigation.
They allege he has committed a number of other shop burglaries in the Merri-bek and Fawkner areas as well.
He is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his 40s, and with a solid build.
He was seen wearing a black face covering and a black cap.
