Trio Who Sexually Abused Kids in Underground Bunker Paid Parents for Access to Their Children

Alabama police have arrested three men who allegedly sexually abused children in a storm shelter.

Bibb County police, who initiated their investigation in early February, initially took William McElroy into custody. A second individual, Dalton Terrell, 21, faced charges related to the case in late April — following a prior arrest for allegedly compensating adults in exchange for sexual exploitation of their children, according to WBRC.

In the days after Terrell’s arrest, Andres Trejo-Velazquez was also charged. According to WBRC, a fourth man was indicted, although his name remains undisclosed as authorities are actively searching for him.

Assistant District Attorney Bryan Jones reported that the six children were drugged and transported to an underground bunker in Brent, where they suffered sexual abuse. The suspects allegedly paid to perpetrate this abuse.

Terrell reportedly abused the children between 2024 and 2025. The victims ranged in age from 3 to 16, according to WDBJ.

Terrell and McElroy are charged with sodomy and rape, while McElroy is also charged with kidnapping. All three men are charged with human trafficking.

WBRC reported that the victims are in the custody of the Alabama Department of Human Resources. Jones said additional charges are likely forthcoming as they identify more victims.
