Tot Mom Casey Anthony joins TikTok and launches a Substack as a “legal advocate” who will “advocate for my daughter.”
Anthony’s debut TikTok touches on her alleged legal experience dating back to 2011, notably referencing her involvement in a high-profile trial related to her daughter’s tragic death. While acquitted of murder charges, she did face conviction for providing false information to law enforcement. Embracing the platform as a positive avenue, Anthony expresses her support for the LGBTQ community.
In her capacity as a self-proclaimed “legal advocate,” Anthony reenters the public sphere by acknowledging her daughter Caylee and her parents, George and Cindy. She clarifies that her TikTok is not centered around her parents or their deeds but hints at potential future discussions on the topic.
Accompanying her TikTok debut, Anthony discloses her collaboration with Substack, a subscription-based platform catering to writers and podcasters. Subscription fees for access to her channel are set at $10 per month or $100 for an annual subscription, and a free tier with limited content is also available.
The world learned about Casey Anthony when her mother called 911 to report that her granddaughter had been missing for nearly a month and that Casey had just admitted it. Anthony spun a web of lies, claiming a nanny had taken 2-year-old Caylee and had not returned her. Police and the media got involved, but none of her claims proved true.
On October 14, a grand jury indicted Anthony on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and four counts of providing false information to police. She was arrested, pleaded not guilty, and was held without bail. Prosecutors announced plans to seek the death penalty. Anthony was acquitted of murder, but the jury convicted her on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
