At about 7.45pm on Sunday, September 14, police were called to a Scenic Highway taverrn in Taranganba, Yeppoon, on the coast south of Mackay, after reports a woman had fallen and suffered life-threatening head injuries.
The 50-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital, but she died yesterday.
A 42-year-old Rosslyn man, who was known to the woman, is assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are also now appealing to witnesses who may have seen a man and woman at the same licensed premises in Taranganba on Sunday between 6pm and 8pm.
In particular, investigators want to speak with two groups of people who left the premises at about 7.30pm, and the occupants of a dual-cab ute that drove out of the carpark around the same time.
Police say these people might be able to help with an investigation into an incident that took place in the tavern in the hours before the woman fell.
Anybody with information is urged to contact Yeppoon Police on (07) 4939 0000, or Policelink on 131 444.
