A young boy discovered wandering alone in Milwaukee earlier this week has been linked to a tragic incident involving a woman found fatally shot in an alley on the same day, according to police.
Anya Raymond, 31, was discovered dead around 9 a.m. on November 5, approximately five hours after the child was found about three miles away in the northern part of Milwaukee, as reported by WISN. Notably, the boy was without shoes and socks when he was found.
Authorities described the boy as being around 5 or 6 years old and noted that he appeared to be non-verbal. After identifying his family, the police confirmed that the child was reunited with them shortly after 4 p.m.
While investigators have not officially clarified the boy’s relationship to Raymond, social media speculation suggests he might be her son.
Rosetta Lampkin-Johnson recounted to WISN how she stumbled upon the body in the alley and immediately ran to alert the police. She mentioned that she did not recognize the woman and had not heard any gunshots in the vicinity prior to the grim discovery.
“It seems she was killed elsewhere and brought here,” Lampkin-Johnson commented. “It’s heartbreaking to see something like this happen, and my sympathies are with her family.”
